Colorado State hasn't had that great a start to the season, falling to 1-2 on the year after their 40-20 loss to the San Jose State Spartans. Star running back Chris Nwoke has missed most of the year so far due to injury and is not guaranteed to be back next game time even though he has returned to practices. They might need him as they face off against the 2-1 Utah State Aggies.
Utah State's loss to Wisconsin in their last game was ugly, but they have shown that they have a talented football team. They took a surprising 27-20 win over the Utah Utes in their second game and laid a smackdown on Southern Utah the week before that. They have been led by a tough defense and solid play from quarterback Chuckie Keeton, who had two touchdowns in the win over Utah.
The Rams took home a win in a thriller the last time the two teams met on Sept. 24, 2011. It took until double overtime, but CSU managed to ride Chris Nwoke to a 35-34 win. This time, they might to need to do it without Nwoke if they want to improve their record to 2-2 on the season.
Odds: Utah State is currently a 14 point favorite to win.
Game Time: 5 p.m. MT at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins.
