The Colorado St. Rams (1-1) play their first road game of the season against the San Jose St. Spartans (1-1) on Saturday night. The Rams will fight for their second win of the season against a team will join the Mountain West Conference in 2013, making this the last non-conference game between the two.

The Rams are looking to rebound from a 22-7 loss to the FCS North Dakota State Bison last Saturday. North Dakota State is the defending FCS national champion, but Colorado State was shut out after scoring the first touchdown of the game just 90 seconds into the first quarter. The Rams are expected to be without running back Chris Nwoke for a second straight game, as he missed the loss to North Dakota State last week. His presence would surely be a boon on the field, but the Rams will need to compensate in other ways, if possible.

The Spartans opened the season with a tough loss to the Stanford Cardinal, 20-17, before rebounding against UC-Davis, 45-13. Quarterback David Fales is 47-of-67 for 494 yards while running back De'Leon Eskridge is averaging 5.9 yards per carry (27 carries for 159 yards) and has three touchdowns.

Will Rams head coach Jim McElwain get his first road victory?
