Losing to an FCS school, even the FCS champions from 2011, didn't help out the reputation of the Colorado State Rams even after they won the Rocky Mountain Showdown to start their season. Going into their game against the San Jose State Spartans at Spartan Stadium, the Rams are a 12.5 point underdog.
Both teams are 1-1 heading into the third week of NCAA play, with Colorado State coming off a disappointing 22-7 loss against North Dakota State, while the Spartans are coming off of a win over UC-Davis. The underdog status for the Rams isn't helped by the fact that star running back Chris Nwoke may be forced to sit out the game.
