Mike Orakpo, brother of Washington Redskins defensive end Brian Orakpo, was dismissed from Colorado State University this past May after an investigation to an on-campus assault, but the linebacker has landed on his feet. Orakpo told The Coloradoan on Sunday night that he will be transferring to Baylor University, where he will have two years of eligibility left.

Orakpo will have to sit out the 2012 season, but after that he'll be free to finish out his career under Art Briles. Orakpo played in all 24 games in his freshman and sophomore seasons at Colorado State, starting 11 of them last season. In 2011, he recorded 124 tackles, two sacks, an interception and forced a fumble, and would have likely been on the shortlist for postseason awards had he not lost his eligibility for the season.

Orakpo is a native of Houston, Tex. which is about three and a half hours southwest of Baylor's campus in Waco, Tex. Coming out of high school, Orakpo was a two-star recruit according to Rivals, and didn't have an offer from any of the major conference schools in Texas.
