Colorado State Rams athletic director Jack Graham has hired University of Washington senior associate athletic director John Morris to "run the day-to-day operations of the athletic department at Colorado State." Morris will start in Fort Collins on June 14, and will be paid a salary of $190,000 a year.
Graham told reporters that he felt like he needed to focus on the overall direction of the athletic department as opposed to the day-to-day operations. Morris, who has been with the University of Washington since 2004, was hired for the deputy athletic director position from a pool of nearly 100 candidates. Morris told reporters that he and his wife have long been fond of Fort Collins, and that he hoped to one day be able to work for Colorado State.
"We have always wanted to live in Fort Collins. We loved the university when we saw it, and when I saw the position advertised, I was delighted."
