2012 Mountain West Football National TV Schedule

On Thursday afternoon, the Mountain West Conference announced its football national television schedule (pdf). From the release:

The Mountain West moves into a new era and television structure in 2012, with a new agreement with CBS Sports Network, to increase national exposure for the conference’s football programs. CBS Sports Network, the Conference’s rights holder, will sub-license games to NBC Sports Network and ESPN.

CBS Sports Network is scheduled to air eight games from the MW package and the CBS Television Network will broadcast the Navy at Air Force game on Saturday, Oct. 6 beginning at 9:30 a.m. MT. NBC Sports Network will televise 10 contests. ESPN or ESPN2 will telecast four games.

This initial slate -- 25 games in total -- includes matchups like Boise State vs. Michigan State (Aug. 31, ESPN), South Florida vs. Nevada (Sept. 8, CBS Sports Network) and Navy vs. Air Force (Oct. 6, CBS). Colorado State is playing in one nationally televised game and Air Force will appear six times. Boise State is set to have eight games nationally televised.

Additional telecasts are expected to be announced "in the coming weeks," according to MWC commissioner Craig Thompson.
