First-year head coach Jim McElwain held his first spring game with the Colorado St. Rams, which resulted in a 10-3 victory for Gold over Green. As evidenced by the score, there wasn't much offense going on in the game. At halftime the score was tied at zero. Not a single offensive touchdown was scored.
Gold put the first points on the board by way of a Jared Roberts 45-yard field goal. Shaq Bell scored the only touchdown of the game when he intercepted M.J. McPeek for a 45-yard interception return and touchdown. Roberts later added a 37-yard field goal for the Green team, ending the scoring for the day.
Joe Kawulok ended the game with a sack, wrapping up what appears to have been a so-so game.
Reports coming from the game have it that McPeek wasn't good, possibly moving Conner Smith into the backup role behind Garrett Grayson.
Attendance was announced at 7,000 but was likely a couple thousand below that.
