It must be good to be the Denver Pioneers right now. They have a clear path to the 2012 Sun Belt Tournament championship after Sunday's contests saw the No. 1 Middle Tenn. St. Blue Raiders and the No. 2 Ark.-Little Rock Trojans eliminated from the postseason. At No. 3, the Pioneers are the highest remaining seed and the projected Sun Belt team for the NCAA Tournament.
Well, for the latter part of that, the Pioneers are projected as a No. 14 seed in Chris Dobbertean's latest Bracketology 2012 projection at SB Nation. The Pioneers find themselves in the West region with a first round game against the No. 3 seed Georgetown Hoyas. The Hoyas need to go through the Big East Tournament first before they can lock in that high of a seed, but the Pioneers are probably in the right seed should the gain the Sun Belt's automatic bid.
