The Colorado St. Rams are several weeks away from starting spring practice, but head coach Jim McElwain's recruiting efforts for 2013 are going full speed ahead. Grand Junction defensive end Austin Berk received a scholarship offer on Sunday:

As of now, Rivals lists Berk as having interest from only one other team: the Colorado Buffaloes. This will be an interesting race this year to gain in-state recruits for both the Buffs and the Rams. Jon Embree and Jim McElwain want to do much better at keeping the state's talent within the borders of Colorado. The Buffs weren't able to do that with Ponderosa High School four star offensive lineman Chris Fox, who gave a verbal to the Michigan Wolverines.
Berk is 6 feet 5 and 230 pounds as he ends his junior year of high school. Will Colorado offer a scholarship soon?
