Colorado State Vs. Air Force Preview: Rams Out To Keep NCAA Dreams Alive

Colorado State takes on Air Force in a pivotal game on Saturday afternoon.

By most accounts, the Colorado St. Rams put themselves on the right side of the bubble after knocking off the No. 17 UNLV Rebels on Wednesday night at home. The majority of experts have the Rams in the NCAA Tournament if it started today. Unfortunately for Colorado State, it does not, and the team's final regular season game of the year will be no joke: the Rams travel to the Air Force Academy to play the Falcons at Clune Arena. Colorado State enters 18-10, 7-6 in the Mountain West, while Air Force is 13-14, 3-10.

Air Force has dropped three straight and is 2-10 in its last 12 games. The Falcons second half slide cost head coach Jeff Reynolds his job, but the roster has talent. If Colorado State is to get a victory in this must-win situation, they'd be wise to slow down Air Force's leading scorer, junior guard Michael Lyons. Lyons enters averaging 15.4 points per game.

Game date/time: 2:00 p.m. MT, Saturday, March 3, 2012

Location: Clune Arena, Colorado Springs, Colo.

TV: The Mtn.

Radio: 740 KVOR
