The Colorado St. Rams have named assistant coach Craig Smith the interim head coach on Saturday, according to Kevin Lytle of the Rocky Mountain Collegian. Smith takes over for Tim Miles, who left the school after five seasons to take over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, a program that is looking to improve as it starts its Big Ten tenure.

Smith just completed his fifth year with the Rams after coming from Mayville State University as its head coach for three years. Mayville State was also home to Tim Miles during the mid-1990s.
The Rams will hopefully land a great hire like the one they found in December with the arrival of Jim McElwain as the football head coach.
