Tim Miles Introduced As New Nebraska Basketball Coach

The Colorado St. Rams are looking for a new head basketball coach now that Tim Miles is officially the Nebraska Cornhuskers' top guy. He was introduced on Saturday afternoon. It's clear that money wasn't really at issue here, but rather the opportunity of joining a school like Nebraska, a new member of the Big Ten (via Omaha.com):

Calling the Husker job a "phenomenal opportunity," Miles said the timing of the job offer – his CSU team making the NCAA Tournament, NU's entry into the Big Ten, good facilities and a new arena coming in 2013 – was too hard to resist.

"I want a crack at the Big Ten," said Miles, who wore a black suit and a red tie he joked he'd already worn twice this week.

It appears that Miles wants to bring Ronal Coleman, his Colorado State recruiting assistant, with him but nothing has happened there yet.

On an interesting note, former Cornhusker Ndamukong Suh talked with Miles and then endorsed him for the job. Athletic director Tom Osborne must've been calling in all of his favors for this one. Can Miles deliver for the Cornhuskers, a program that had its best days in the early 1990s.
