3 Colorado State Players Involved In St. Patrick's Day Fight Participate In 1st Spring Practice

The Colorado St. Rams began spring practice with new head coach Jim McElwain on Wednesday, but they were close to having three players missing on the first day. Ty Sambrailo, Mike Orakpo and Nordly Capi were involved in an altercation that left all three with a vary degree of injury, reports the Coloradoan.

According to the reports, the three players were at a party on St. Patrick's Day when several other attendees were thrown out. One of those individuals kicked out the tail light on Capi's, which prompted the three Rams players to get into a car and chase after them. Eventually, the cars stopped, the two sides got out and a fight broke out.

That resulted in a knife-slash to the back of Sambrailo's shoulder, which required 14 staples, while Orakpo received a cut to his thumb and Capi a cut on his wrist. Capi and Orakpo each had full participation on Wednesday while Sambrailo warmed up with the team before sitting out the actual practice.

No disciplinary measures have been taken while the university waits for the official police reports.
