2012 Mock NCAA Basketball Tournament Bracket: Denver Pioneers Projected As No. 14 Seed

Over the past couple of days, some of the top college basketball writers in the country assembled in Indianapolis to go through the process of putting together an NCAA Tournament bracket. Based on computer simulations used to select the teams that would earn the automatic bids, the Denver Pioneers earned a spot in the bracket after winning the mock Sun Belt conference tournament.

Despite having already lost five games in conference play, the Pioneers received a solid No. 14 seed in the mock bracket. Victories over teams like Southern Mississippi, St. Mary's and Wyoming in the non-conference portion of the schedule certainly gives the Pioneers a strong resume.

As the No. 14 seed in the mock bracket, the Pioneers would face the No. 3 seed Indiana Hoosiers from the Big 10. The rest of the pod, which would be played in Columbus, OH, features the No. 6 seed Vanderbilt Commodores from the SEC and the No. 11 seed Texas Longhorns from the Big 12.
