Mountain West Tournament Bracket Update: Jimmer Fredette's 24 Points Helps BYU Overcome TCU, 64-58

The BYU Cougars failed to achieve a good start to the 2011 Mountain West Tournament, but wound up defeating the TCU Horned Frogs, 64-58. Midway through the first half of the game, BYU saw a four-point lead evaporate into 34-33 score in favor of the Horned Frogs at halftime.

However, BYU never trailed after it tied the game on a free throw early in the second half. Jimmer Fredette led the offense with 24 points, while Charles Abouo, Kyle Collinsworth and Noah Hartsock combined for 23 rebounds. Abouo and Hartsock added 14 points and 10 points, respectively.

Neither team used their bench to much effect, scoring a total of three points in the game. The Horned Frogs had four of their five starters with at least 11 points to make it a close game.
