Colorado State Vs. New Mexico: Rams Hold Off Lobo Comeback To Win 68-62

(Sports Network) - Andy Ogide scored a game-high 17 points as the Colorado State Rams defeated the New Mexico Lobos, 68-62, in a Mountain West Conference showdown at Moby Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Rams (17-7, 7-3 MWC), as they won their second in a row and the fourth in the last five outings, were Greg Smith and Adam Nigon with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

The Lobos (17-8, 5-5) were paced by Kendall Williams and Dairese Gary who dropped in 16 points apiece, followed by Drew Gordon who posted 12 points, but also turned the ball over six times before fouling out. The setback snapped a four-game win streak by UNM.

The Lobos appeared out of sync in the first half, shooting just 31.0 percent from the field and 2-of-11 beyond the arc, leaving the visitors with a 36-22 deficit at the break.

In the second half New Mexico fought back and made things interesting down the stretch, but 5-of-10 shooting beyond the arc and 9-of-13 at the free-throw line by CSU assured the hosts of the six-point win.

The difference in the contest came at the free-throw line where Colorado State outscored UNM by a 15-8 margin.
