Down by as many as 15 points at one point in the second half, the No. 14 Wisconsin Badgers battled back to defeat the previously undefeated No. 1 Ohio St. Buckeyes, 71-67. This was the first time since 1962 that the Badgers defeated a No. 1 team, and that was Ohio State all those years ago. The Badgers also defeated the then-No. 1 Buckeyes in football on Oct. 16, 2010.
Wisconsin's Mike Bruesewitz hit a key three-point shot with 20 second left in the game to put the Badgers up, 68-63. After a couple of free throws by both sides and a Jared Sullinger three-pointer, the score was 70-67 in favor of the Badgers. Wisconsin made one more free throw before the fans rushed the court.
Wisconsin's Jordan Taylor was the player of the game with 21 of his 27 points coming in the second half. He made five three-pointers and dished out seven assists. Bruesewitz added 12 points off the bench. For Ohio State, Jared Sullinger he scored 19 points and pulled down 12 boards. William Buford led the Buckeyes with 21 points.
With the loss, there are no more undefeated teams in the nation. Will the Buckeyes lose the No. 1 spot in the polls?
