The Colorado State Rams didn't let the Duke Blue Devils smack them around on Sunday, but they were handily beaten 87-64 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke got out to an early lead and pulled away late in the first half, and Colorado State was never able to get it any closer than 13 points in the second half.
It was a nice all-around performance by Duke, which shot 56 percent from the field while playing solid defense. Freshman guard Austin Rivers came alive in the second half to lead the Blue Devils with 17 points. Mason Plumlee added 14 points, ten rebounds, five blocks, four steals and two assists, but most of his damage came in the first half. Andre Dawkins had 15 points in the first half but didn't score in the second, and Miles Plumlee added 14 and five rebounds.
Colorado State just couldn't quite keep up with Duke tonight. They shot better in the second half but still put up just 41 percent from the field, and they turned the ball over 15 times as well. Greg Smith led the team with 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting, and Dorian Green was the other big contributor with 14 points and ten rebounds.
