Colorado guard Nate Tomlinson missed a three-pointer at the buzzer and Colorado State knocked off in-state rival Colorado 65-64 at Moby Arena on Wednesday. Rams guard Dorian Green made a layup with nine seconds remaining for the go-ahead score and what would be the final basket of the game.
Wes Eikmeier carried the scoring burden for Colorado State, finishing with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting that included three three-pointers. Green finished with nine points and nine assists. Fellow starters Greg Smith and Will Bell each scored nine for Colorado State in the win.
The Buffaloes rode balanced scoring throughout, but couldn't overcome a seven-point first half deficiet. Spencer Dinwiddie scored a team-high 16 points and finished with eight rebounds. Austin Default (13 points) and Tomlinson (11 points) were also instrumental in Colorado's comeback attempt. Andre Roberson grabbed 12 rebounds in the loss.
Colorado out-rebounded the Rams 38-27. The Rams finished with more assists and steals.
