Despite entering the matchup with No. 19 TCU on a five-game losing streak, the Colorado St. Rams haven't shown any signs of intimidation in the opening quarter, as the Rams trail 6-0. Although TCU was able to generate some offensive rhythm, Colorado St. did an excellent job of keeping the Horned Frogs out of the end zone.
The Rams opened the game with an impressive drive, as they worked their way down the field and were in field goal range, when head coach Steve Fairchild elected to try and convert on fourth and short. Unfortunately, TCU came up with the stop and drove down the field for a field goal. CSU's second drive also had potential until a costly fumble by Chris Nwoke gave the Horned Frogs the ball in CSU territory. However, the Rams defense held strong and TCU had to settle for another field goal.
Starting in place of the injured Pete Thomas, QB Garrett Grayson has completed 2/3 for 45 yards. Nwoke rushed for 31 yards on 10 carries in the opening quarter.
