Despite San Diego St. putting together two drives deep into Colorado St. territory, the Rams are still within striking distance, as they trail the Aztecs 15-7 heading into the fourth quarter.
San Diego St. had an opportunity to stretch its lead on multiple occasions in the third quarter, but couldn't find a way to get points on the scoreboard. Abelardo Perez missed a 44-yard field goal attempt halfway through the quarter. The Aztecs were also unable to convert on a fourth down conversion in Colorado St. territory.
After losing starting QB Pete Thomas to an injury in the first half, the Rams struggled to generate much offense following the halftime break. Colorado St. only had the ball once in the quarter due to the Aztecs putting together two long drives. However, the Rams were forced to punt on their lone drive, with San Diego St. doing an excellent job of limiting Chris Nwoke.
