Colorado State Wins Conference Opener Over Wyoming, 73-60

(Sports Network) - Adam Nigon scored 21 points, knocking down 7-of-10 shots from three-point range, as the Colorado State Rams picked up a 73-60 win over the Wyoming Cowboys in Mountain West Conference play at Moby Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Rams (11-4, 1-0 MWC) were Andy Ogide and Wes Eikmeier with 13 and 11 points, respectively, as they won their seventh in the last eight outings.

The Cowboys (7-8, 0-1) were paced by Desmar Jackson who registered a game-high 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the floor. Francisco Cruz chipped in 14 points as they fell for the second time in the last three contests.

Wyoming, which led by as many as 13 points in the first half, shot an impressive 56.0 percent form the field in the period in order to claim a 39-37 lead at the break.

In the second half the Pokes completely fell apart with a total of just six made field goals, not to mention 0-of-8 shooting beyond the arc, as they lost control and allowed the Rams to streak ahead and grab the 13-point win.

CSU, which fought through 13 turnovers, made good on 14-of-27 shots beyond the arc on the night.
