The Fresno State Bulldogs remained undefeated in Mountain West Conference play, dispatching the struggling Colorado State Rams 28-7 in Fort Collins on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (4-2) took advantage of fortuitous situations to build a 21-0 lead, as its first three touchdowns came on drives that began in Colorado State territory. After cashing in on a 29-yard field from a Rams fumble, Fresno State blocked a punt late in the first half. Derek Carr then hit Josh Harper on a 20-yard touchdown pass for a 14-0 halftime lead.
The Rams (1-5) were buried in the fourth quarter when Carr engineered a 71-yard drive that ended when he found Davante Adams for a five-yard score and a 28-0 margin.
Colorado State was largely inept on offense, managing just 171 total yards and committing two turnovers until its final possession, when M.J. McPeek led the Rams on a 77-yard scoring drive with less than a minute left to avoid a shutout.
