Colorado State vs. San Diego State score update: Rams trail Aztecs, 31-7

After three quarters of action, Colorado State trails San Diego State, 31-7.

The third quarter of Saturday's game between Colorado State and San Diego State belonged exclusively to the Aztecs. The Rams were spectators, for the most part as they watched the Aztecs go up, 31-7. SDSU had already taken a 17-7 lead into halftime, after the teams were locked at seven points apiece through the first quarter.

But CSU hasn't been able to put points on the board since the opening period, while SDSU appears to be hitting its stride and ready to close out this game. The touchdowns in the third quarter came on an 11-yard scamper by SDSU quarterback Ryan Katz. That's how the quarter began.

Later on, Katz found Brice Butler for his second touchdown toss of the game. Through three quarters, Katz is almost untouchable, completing 14 of his 17 pass attempts for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Conner Smith has played well after replacing M.J. McPeek in the second quarter. Smith is 12 of 14 on his passes for 80 yards.
