Both the Colorado Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies have had their struggles this season, but things have started to get better as of late for both clubs. Philly rode a solid month of August to third place in the NL East, going 15-12 that month to push themselves above the Mets and Marlins. Colorado is still at the bottom of the NL West and isn't likely to get much higher, but they have gone from bad to mediocre at least in the past month.
Fresh off dropping two straight unfortunate 1-0 losses in Atlanta, the Rockies will now head to Philly for a three game series against the Phillies.
Jeff Francis (5-4, 5.73 ERA) will take on Cliff Lee (4-7, 3.52 ERA) in game one. Lee, whose disappointing numbers are hiding an effective season from the veteran pitcher even on a losing team, will be trying to win three straight starts for the first time all season.
Game 1 of the series will be at 5:05 p.m. MT at Citizens Bank Park.
