The Colorado Rockies have now lost nine straight games, including the first three of a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Rockies hope to avoid the sweep and get back in the win column tonight in the final game of the series in Denver.
Tyler Chatwood will take the mound on Monday, entering the game with a 4-5 record and a 5.73 ERA on the season. Chatwood lasted just four innings in his last start, allowing three runs in a loss against the San Francisco Giants and has a rather poor 6.39 ERA in his past three games.
The Diamondbacks counter with Trevor Cahill, who sports a 12-11 record with a 3.89 ERA this year. Cahill has allowed just six runs in 19-1/3 innings in September, while striking out 16. The pitcher has not allowed more than four runs in a start since June 20 against Seattle.
First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. MT, with coverage on ROOT Sports.
