The Colorado Rockies lost their eighth straight game on Saturday night, dropping the second game of the series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-7.
The Rockies would go down 3-0 in the first inning, but took a 5-3 lead after the third thanks to a four-run second inning and a Wilin Rosario home run in the third. Rosario's homer, his 26th of the season, broke the franchise rookie record, which Todd Helton set in 1998.
Starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin lasted just four innings, allowing three runs on three hits in the first before being pulled for Carlos Torres headed into the fifth. The Diamondbacks would jump all over the Torres in the sixth inning, scoring five runs on four hits and three walks.
The Rockies would attempt to come back from the 8-5 deficit, scoring in the sixth and seventh innings, yet ultimately fell short in what would be their eighth straight loss.
