The Colorado Rockies have reinstated left-hander Jorge De La Rosa from the 60-day disabled list, according to a press release from the club.
De La Rosa, who has missed 263 games after undergoing Tommy John surgery in early 2011, will start today's game against the San Francisco Giants. Since joining the Rockies in 2008, the lefty has posted a 39-26 record with a 4.38 ERA in 91 appearances. Thursday's start will be his first appearance since May 24, 2011.
In a corresponding move, the Rockies moved 25-year-old right-hander Christian Friedrich to the 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man roster. Friedrich was placed on the 15-day DL on July 29 with a stress fracture in his lower back, after posting a 5-8 record and a 6.17 ERA in his first big-league season.
First pitch for today's Rockies vs. Giants game is slated for 1:45 p.m. MT.
