Rockies Vs. Giants: Jhoulys Chacin, Madison Bumgarner Duel In Bay Area

The Colorado Rockies head to San Francisco for a four-game series against the Giants.

After losing two of three against the San Diego Padres, the Colorado Rockies head to San Francisco for a four-game series against the N.L. West leading Giants.

The Giants, 83-63, currently hold the No. 3 spot in the National League and a 7.5 game lead over the Dodgers in the West and have won six of their last four. San Francisco is coming off a series win against the Diamondbacks on the road in Arizona, losing the final game of the series 10-2 on Sunday.

The Rockies maintain their hold on the third-worst record in baseball and are just 5-10 in the month of Sept. The Giants have played just three games at home since Sept. 3 and conclude the current road trip after the series against the Giants.

Sept. 17: RHP Jhoulys Chacin (2-5, 4.86) takes on LHP Madison Bumgarner (14-10, 3.32); first pitch is set for 8:15 p.m. MT with coverage on ROOT Sports.

Sept. 18: LHP Jeff Francis (5-5, 5.68) faces RHP Tim Lincecum (9-14, 5.09) on Tuesday; first pitch is set for 8:15 p.m. MT with coverage on ROOT Sports and MLB Network.

Sept. 19: RHP Tyler Chatwood (4-4, 5.65) takes the mound against RHP Matt Cain (14-5, 2.93) on Wednesday; first pitch is set for 8:15 p.m. MT with coverage on ROOT Sports.

Sept. 20: The Rockies have not announced the pitcher for this game, who would be facing LHP Barry Zito (12-8, 4.21) on Thursday; first pitch is set for 8:15 p.m. MT with coverage on ROOT Sports.
