Dodgers Vs. Rockies: Colorado Looks To Complete Sweep Against LA

When the Los Angeles Dodgers completed a earth-shattering trade with the Boston Red Sox last weekend, they expected to make a late season charge towards the postseason. Instead, they have been absolutely dominated the past two nights by a Colorado Rockies lineup filled with league-minimum players and rookies, outscored 18-4 in the first two games of this series.

The Rockies send left-hander Drew Pomeranz (1-7, 4.78) to the mound to complete the sweep. Pomeranz has pitched well lately, allowing two or fewer runs in three of his past four outings. His recent performances have been a major factor in Colorado's recent streak. The Rockies are 12-4 in their last 16 games.

Los Angeles will send veteran Joe Blanton (8-12, 5.02) to the mound. Blanton was acquired off waivers from Philadelphia earlier this month, and has not performed well in a Dodgers uniform, allowing 18 earned runs and 28 hits in just 21 innings. Los Angeles has lost three of his four starts.

After running into the center field wall twice during this series, Dodgers superstar center fielder Matt Kemp will not be available in this game and has been listed as day-to-day.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:10pm MT. The game will not be televised, but is available on 850 KOA.
