Cardinals Vs. Rockies Final Score: Colorado Wins 8-2, Avoids Sweep

The Colorado Rockies rode strong pitching to a 8-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday night at Coors Field. In order to avoid a sweep, the pitching staff really turned the tides after allowing 20 runs over the first two games of the series.

Through six innings on Thursday, the game was actually tied 2-2, but the Rockies offense blew things open by scoring three runs apiece during each of the final two frames. Starter Alex White pitched five shutout innings to begin the game, but he needed Rex Brothers to bail him out after being chased during a sixth inning rally by St. Louis.

Jordan Pacheco led the way for Colorado on offense with three hits, including a pair of doubles, while both Wilin Rosario and Josh Rutledge went deep for the Rockies. With the bullpen pitching 3.2 shutout innings, that was more than enough firepower.
