White, who will start against the Cardinals, is 2-6 with a 6.45 ERA in 10 starts for Colorado this season. He has struck out 34 and walked 22 in 51-2/3 innings. He's fared better in triple-A, where he has a 3.71 ERA in 11 starts.
Brown has hit .208/.231/.292 in 26 plate appearances at the major league level in 2012.
