Rockies Vs. Brewers Score Update: Colorado Has Huge 8-1 Lead Through 5 Innings

The Colorado Rockies and Milwaukee Brewers started a three-game series on Monday night at Coors Field. Through five innings, things are looking good for the Rockies: they lead 8-1.

Colorado took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, with Jonathan Herrera hitting an RBI single and then scoring on a Carlos Gonzalez groundout plus a Wilin Rosario sac fly.

An Eric Young Jr. groundout scored Chris Nelson in the second inning, then the Rockies put four runs up in the third. Tyler Colvin hit an RBI-double and Gonzalez, Nelson and DJ LeMahieu hit RBI-singles.

Milwaukee scored its lone run off a Corey Hart groundout in the fourth.

Brewers starter Mike Fiers was pulled in the third. He gave up nine hits, eight earned runs and struck out one.

Rockies starter Jeff Francis has given up five hits and one run through five.
