The St. Louis Cardinals scored four runs in the first inning en route to an 11-6 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night at Coors Field. St. Louis tagged Rockies' starter Jeff Francis for six hits and five earned runs over four innings. The win moves St. Louis to 55-48, while Colorado falls to 37-64.
Eric Young Jr. finished 3-for-5 with two runs for the Rockies in the loss. Third baseman Jordan Pacheco also added three hits. Shortstop Josh Rutledge went 2-for-5 with three RBI for Colorado.
Kyle Lohse improved to 11-2 on the season by allowing nine hits and five earned runs over six innings. Left fielder Matt Holliday, right fielder Carlos Beltran and third baseman David Freese each hit home runs for St. Louis in the victory.
