Jeremy Guthrie Trade Rumors: Rockies Move RHP Back To Rotation Before Trade Deadline

The Colorado Rockies (30-49) suffered through an awful month of June, going 9-18 and never winning more than two games in a row during that span, and for that reason the club is expected to be a seller through MLB's non-waiver trade deadline on July 31. Jeremy Guthrie's move back the starting rotation on Wednesday against the St. Louis Cardinals could be part of that story as well. With Christian Friedrich in need of some extra rest (sore calf), Guthrie will move out of the bullpen and back into the rotation for a spot start. Over at The Denver Post there is speculation that it creates an opportunity to showcase Guthrie to potential suitors, as the 33-year-old "has attracted mild interest the last few weeks and is expected to be dealt."
