Chris Nelson Cleared To Resume Baseball Activities

The Colorado Rockies have been without infielder Chris Nelson for over a week since he was placed on the 15-day disabled list with an irregular heartbeat. On Wednesday night, Nelson was cleared to resume baseball activities, reports the Denver Post's Troy Renck. He will spend a few days working on his conditioning before actually starting those baseball activities.

Nelson is hitting .256/.324/.411 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 58 games. He's played 45 games at third base, starting 26 of them. This is his third year appearing the majors, having been drafted with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2004 draft. Originally a shortstop, Nelson moved off the position as a result of Troy Tulowitzki's presence.
