Jonathan Herrera Injury: Colorado Rockies' Infielder Will Rehab In Triple-A

Jonathan Herrera is gradually getting better. The Colorado Rockies' second baseman/third baseman hasn't played since July 15 thanks to a staph infection in his left wrist. Herrera's stint on the 15-day disabled list started the following day. Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports the 28-year old Venezuelan is about to start a rehab assignment at Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Herrera is batting .246/.292/.385 in 45 games and 122 at-bats this season. He has three home runs and 33 RBI on the campaign. The Rockies are 2-6 since Herrera went down.
