Rockies Vs. Cardinals Final Score: Colorado Drops 3rd Straight Game With 9-3 Loss In St. Louis

The St. Louis Cardinals received another stellar pitching effort from Kyle Lohse during an 9-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies in the series opener on Monday at Busch Stadium. The loss drops the Rockies to 30-49 on the season, while St. Louis moves to 42-38.

Matt Holliday went 2-for-3 and hit his 13th homer of the season to give the Cards a 2-0 lead in the third inning. Allen Craig also went deep for the Cards with a two-run shot in the fifth, his 12th of the season. Third baseman David Freese finished 3-for-4 in the win.

Rockies starter Josh Outman gave up two runs and five walks over three innings before being pulled for Tyler Chatwood, who proceeded to give up four runs and five hits over 2.1 innings. Tyler Colvin added his ninth homer of the year in the fourth inning, which was really the only offensive highlight for the Rockies.
