Pirates Vs. Rockies Score Update: Colorado Leads 4-1 After 5 Innings

After a big fifth inning, the Colorado Rockies will take a 4-1 lead over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday at Coors Field. The game has been characterized by rainy conditions, but there are still no signals of the contest being delayed or shortened.

All of the game's runs were scored in fifth inning. Pittsburgh got on the board first when pitcher Jeff Karstens helped his own cause by singling to right and driving in Pablo Alvarez. Shortstop Josh Rutledge would single in Tyler Colvin for the Rockies to tie the game in the bottom half of the frame. Eric Young Jr. added two more runs for Colorado when he doubled to deep right to score Rutledge and Wilin Rosario. Marco Scutaro would later score Young Jr. with an RBI single.

Starter Jeff Francis has allowed six hits and one earned run over five innings and 72 pitches for the Rockies.
