Marco Scutaro Trade Rumors: Scout Shows Up At Coors Field

With the 2012 MLB Season not playing out the way Rockies fans had hoped for and the trading deadline just over two weeks away, it might be time to look toward the future.

One veteran who would be attractive to contending clubs is Colorado Rockies infielder Marco Scutaro, who can play multiple positions. Sctuaro is already drawing some active interest from one team, according to ROOT Sports.

The Detroit Tigers are that team, looking for a potential bat to add. Detroit has the power in the middle of the order with Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder, but could use some table-setters.

Scutaro is having another productive campaign as a 36-year-old. He's batting .275 with four home runs and 24 RBI, proving once more to be a valuable asset.

It's doubtful the Rockies could get a top prospect for Scutaro, but should be able to add a mid-level player or two in the minor leagues.

The trading deadline is July 31.
