Rockies Vs. Phillies Final Score: Rockies 6, Phiilies 2

The Colorado Rockies took care of business against the struggling Philadelphia Phillies, winning 6-2 on Friday night at Coors Field.

Colorado was able to get the victory behind a strong outing from Christian Friedrich. The youngster threw six innings only allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven.

However, the big story was the debut of Josh Rutledge. The Alabama native wasted no time getting acclimated to the major league scene, going 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI and a walk. The 23-year-old batted eighth in the lineup and was a key contributor, getting the scoring going in the second inning with an RBI double.

Carlos Gonzalez also had a nice night, collecting three hits and scoring a run.

Philadelphia saw a solid performance by Cliff Lee become wasted, after he battled through six innings giving up three runs, with only two of them being earned.

The Rockies will try to keep the momentum going on Saturday when they face Vance Worley in the middle game of this series.
