The Colorado Rockies will look to have better success against the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday when they have newly signed but familiar face Jeff Francis on the mound. The lefty officially signed with Colorado on Saturday and is wasting no time in getting back to the mound at Coors Field. Francis made 12 starts for the Cincinnati Reds' Triple-A team before exercising his option to be released once June 1 came around.
Opposing Francis will be Dan Haren (3-6, 3.52 ERA), who made it through just five innings in his last start. He needed 104 pitches to get those 15 outs, likely a result of pitching 16 innings and striking out 21 over his previous two starts.
