Christian Friedrich, Matt Belisle and Adam Ottavino combined to hold the Arizona Diamondbacks to a five-hit shutout as the Colorado Rockies earned a 4-0 victory on Monday night at Chase Field. The win moves the Rockies to 24-30, while Arizona falls to 25-30.
The Rockies scored one in the first, two in the second and one in the fourth. After Dexter Fowler led off the game with a triple, shortstop Marco Scutaro drove in the center fielder on a sacrifice fly to right. Catcher Wilin Rosario drove in a pair of runs, including one on a solo blast in the fourth, his ninth homer of the year.
The performance of the 24-year old Friedrich was the biggest story for the Rockies. Friedrich went seven innings, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out four. He moved to 4-1 on the season with the victory.
