2012 MLB Mock Draft: Jonathan Mayo Projects OF David Dahl To Rockies

The 2012 MLB Draft is just a few hours away and the Colorado Rockies hold the 10th overall pick. It appears that the team will change directions from years past and go with a high school bat -- at least according to all the bits of news added into the various mock drafts that have made their rounds the last few days. Over at MLB.com, Jonathan Mayo offers his latest mock draft with the Rockies taking Alabama prep outfielder David Dahl:

10. Colorado Rockies: David Dahl, OF, Oak Mountain HS (Ala.)
Hawkins, Dahl and Gavin Cecchini have been high school hitters in the mix here and they could still go the college arm route, but the speedy outfielder from Alabama gets the nod.

If the Rockies decided not to buck history and go with a pitcher with this pick, Texas A&M Aggies right-hander Michael Wacha might be the selection. He goes to the Chicago White at No. 13 in this mock draft.
