Rockies Vs. Padres Score Update: Francis Shutting Down Pads As Colorado Leads 2-0

Colorado Rockies starter Jeff Francis is threatening to test the team's 75-pitch limit for it's starting pitchers. Francis is in the process of throwing a gem on Friday night vs. the San Diego Padres, having allowed no runs and two hits through five innings. He's spend 65 pitches doing so, and manager Jim Tracy will likely have to decide between his new philosophy and results on the field.

The Rockies lead 2-0 thanks to a Carlos Gonzalez groundout that scored Marco Scutaro and a Scutaro single that scored Wilin Rosario. Padres starter Jason Marquis, in a return to Coors Field, has been almost as good as Francis so far through five, allowing only three hits, but also the two runs. Marquis has also struck out six batters.
