Rockies Vs. Rangers: Colorado Looks To Crack MLB's Best Team On Saturday

The Colorado Rockies continue their interleague series against the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon after losing Friday night's game, 4-1. The team will need to do better than the one run on 12 hits they put up in that game, especially since Texas scored four runs on seven hits.

Josh Outman (0-3, 8.41 ERA) continues his search for his first win with the Rockies. He's also battling the 75-pitch count the starters are on. After joining the rotation on June 1, Outman has slowly been stretching himself out, but he's allowed at least four runs in each of his last three starts. He has yet to go longer than five innings in any of his starts and was already in the 70-pitch count range in the fifth during his last two starts.

Opposing Outman on the mound will be Colby Lewis (6-5, 3.00 ERA), who has been the opposite of the Rockies' starters this season. He has consistently reached the seventh inning, pitching into that inning in each of his four June starts. He threw back-to-back complete games (one an eight-inning CG loss) earlier in the month and has most recently thrown seven innings of one-run ball against the Houston Astros. He struck out 10 in that game.

Game time/date: 1:05 p.m. MT, Saturday, June 23, 2012

Location: Rangers Ballpark, Arlington, Tx.
