Phillies Vs. Rockies: Colorado Sends Alex White To Mound

The Colorado Rockies are in the midst of one of the worst months in franchise history, and still have five games left on their difficult road trip. They face the Philadelphia Phillies for the second game of a two game series

They send right hander Alex White (2-5, 5.56) to the mound in hopes that he can stop the bleeding. White has been the Rockies' most consistent starter this month, but his last outing against the Oakland Athletics was cut short due to a blister issue on his finger. Despite pitching at least six innings in four of the past six games, White will also be limited to just 75 pitches in this start, much like Josh Outman on Tuesday night. White has never faced the Philadelphia Phillies.

His counterpart on the mound will be right handed veteran Joe Blanton (6-6, 4.93) who is coming off his best start of the season. Blanton threw a complete game against the Minnesota Twins, allowing only one run and striking out seven batters. Before that, however, Blanton had allowed at least five earned runs in the previous five starts.

Carlos Gonzalez is expected to return to the lineup for Colorado after missing two games with a knee injury, according to the Denver Post.

Game time/date: 7:05 p.m. MT, Wednesday, June 20

Location: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, PA
