2012 MLB Mock Draft: Baseball America Tabs Courtney Hawkins For Rockies

If there's one 2012 MLB Draft prospect that has been most connected to the Colorado Rockies, it may be Texas outfielder Courtney Hawkins. Hawkins is one of the premier power bats in the draft, a raw high schooler from Texas with a major ceiling. Hawkins has been pegged for the Rockies in various mock drafts throughout the process, and the newest version of Baseball America's mock also has the Rockies taking Hawkins.

Here's Jim Callis on the projection:

10. ROCKIES. Colorado hasn't had much luck taking pitchers in the first round lately and is targeting bats. Hawkins, Alabama high school outfielder David Dahl and Louisiana prep shortstop Gavin Cecchini would be the top options. Oklahoma high school righthander Ty Hensley is a longshot.
Projected Pick: COURTNEY HAWKINS.
