Athletics Vs. Rockies: Jarrod Parker, Alex White Duel In Finale

The Colorado Rockies are in a dark place once again, currently on a seven-game losing streak entering Thursday's series finale against the Oakland Athletics. Wednesday's game saw the Rockies cough up a ninth-inning lead and lose by two runs, 10-8.

Alex White (2-4, 5.66 ERA) will look to avoid putting the Rockies on an eight-game losing streak when the teams take the field this afternoon. He is 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA in two starts so far in June. He lost his previous start, which was a six-inning performance against the Los Angeles Angels. He allowed two two-run home runs to Torii Hunter in that game.

Jarrod Parker (2-3, 3.19 ERA) is a familiar name to the Rockies, likely, since he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks' organization until a December trade sent him to the West Coast. He's done well as a rookie in nine starts so far, but his last time out was one of his worst: He allowed six runs on eight hits and five walks in five innings. And it came against the Diamondbacks in an 8-3 loss.
