Baseball is already in its second round of interleague play, and the Colorado Rockies start a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics at Coors Field on Tuesday. Given that there's no geographical tie and it's a meeting between the third worst team in each league, this one would appear unlikely to drum up much national interest.
Colorado is riding a five-game losing streak after getting swept at home by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim this weekend. Oakland also got swept this weekend, with the beating delivered by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Colorado will turn to 33-year old right-hander Jeremy Guthrie in the opener. Guthrie enters at 3-4 with a 6.35 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. He'll be opposed by 39-year old Oakland righty Bartolo Colon. Colon is 5-6 with a 3.92 ERA and 1.26 WHIP.
Game time/date: 6:40 p.m. MT, Tuesday, June 12
Location: Coors Field, Denver, CO
TV/Radio: ROOT Sports/850KOA
